Books Brooklyn Lit Mag A Public Space Launches English-Language Annual of Japan's Monkey Business

The first US Monkey Business, featuring selections from the first ten issues, features manga based on Kafka, the English-language originals of stories by Barry Yourgrau, and much more. There'll be three events in conjunction with the release in late April and early May, featuring readings by both American and Japanese writers, a panel on contemporary Asian fiction, and an evening of readings and video.
The publication of the magazine in English is underwritten by a grants from The Nippon Foundation, the Asia Society, the Japan Foundation and the Japan Society, because countries that are not America are generally unsatisfied by what the free market is interested in doing for cultural exchange.
