News Pillowmaggedon 2011: We Fought Through Flurries of Feathers To Bring You These Pillow Fight Photos

Saturday was International Pillow Fight Day, and New Yorkers got their hits (gently) in Union Square from 3pm onwards. We sent three photographers; only one made it back. This is her story.

Pillow Fight

On Saturday April 2nd, over fifteen thousand people converged on Union Square ready to battle. Part of Newmindspace's series of urban prankster events, the New York City Pillow Fight has proven to be increasingly popular each year. Those in the know promoted the event to their friends and, like any good viral event, a chain reaction started. The website describes the Pillow Fight as "Pillows fly and teddies soar as you converge for a giant urban pillow fight! Swing and whack as you evade pillow-wielding assailants. Bring a soft pillow and wait for the signal. Pillow fight!"
