The Archers of Loaf to Play Two NYC Shows in June

Posted By on Tue, Apr 12, 2011 at 9:50 AM

You don't need us to tell you the 90s are back. They are, in all sorts of different ways, from Guided by Voices headlining this year's Northside Festival to all those terrible indie rock bands who keep pretending it's ok that they liked Colour Me Bad so much when they were kids. Just a couple weeks ago, Lauren Beck and I even had a conversation about Friends.

And will you look at this: After a one-off, surprise reunion show at the Cat's Cradle back in January, the mighty Archers of Loaf have announced a reunion tour that brings them to New York for two shows—June 25th at Music Hall and June 26 at Webster Hall. Tickets go on sale Friday at noon.

The rest of the tour is, in reality, more a series of mini-tours, with the band playing on 17 shows in 12 cities over the course of three months. One imagines there could be more announcements to come. In the meantime, let's watch every Archers of Loaf video the internet has to offer.

They're heeeere... That is, more Halloween horror favorites, a Canadian cult classic, and a restored Ken Jacobs film, which he discusses here.

An all-time great continues a theatrical revival run, a bumper crop of October horror, and an extraordinarily rare Kathy Acker film.
