Earlier this month the Brooklyn Flea ventured outdoors for the first time in months, taking up its regular Saturday spot in Fort Greene and expanding to the Williamsburg waterfront on Sundays on a lot generously provided by condo developers waiting to build another thirty-story tower. Since they have that space all weekend, and food has become such an integral part of the weekly market (not to mention Brooklyn's slow/local/organic movements), the Flea is launching the edibles-only fair Smorgasburg in Williamsburg on Saturdays.

Smorgasburg debuts at the waterfront site on May 21, with over 100 vendors and about 20 greenmarket vendors (including Brooklyn Grange). Non-food-stuffs will include a kitchenware booth from Brooklyn Kitchen, a fancy playground and a Kickstarter project booth.

Curious about the vendors? So are we—we'll keep checking the Smorgasburg site for deets. Your hungover Saturday brunch just got much, much better.
