If I learned anything in my Catholic school upbringing, it's that a church is the ideal location to witness the live incarnation of a Bradford Cox solo project, the album release party for Woods' forthcoming Sun & Shade, the post-Microphones offerings of cult hero Phil Elvrum, and dabblings from the debut solo record (out on Merge, no less) from one of the strangest minds in indie rock. Located at 84 Herbert Street, between Monitor and Henry, it seems safe to say that St. Cecilia's is one of the most beautiful and vital churches in Brooklyn — a true community institution for over 100 years — and it's an honor to have it play such a prominent role in this year's festival. Father Jim, you're the best.
To make matters even better, a hearty batch of showcase bands have been added to the Northside lineup, including Diamond Rings, Porcelain Raft, Light Asylum and a bill curated by the hardest hitting of the 90s revivalists Mr. Dream. Check it out:
Tickets to all four shows at St. Cecilia's go on sale Friday May 6, at noon. You'll be able to buy those here.

Or, if you prefer, you could buy yourself a badge for $70, which, I know we're biased, but is a fairly incredible price for all these bands, for reals (always worth mentioning that badge-holders will be admitted to venues on a first-come, first-serve basis); you can buy those right here.
