Instead of Complaining About the Politics of Pitchfork's "Best New Music," Let's Watch This Graham Nash Video

Posted by on Fri, May 13, 2011 at 10:35 AM

Much as I would like to make a big fuss about the fact that after receiving Pitchfork scores of 8.2 and 8.3, respectively, this morning, neither Wild Beasts nor Liturgy received the Best New Music tag, even though this year alone, three albums (The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Big K.R.I.T., and, oh god, The Antlers) with scores of 8.2, and another (Lykke Li) with an 8.3 have received the honor, leading one to believe that they're actually judging the idea of a band in 2011 rather than the actual music they're releasing, I will instead just watch this video of Graham Nash performing "On the Line" from his really excellent 1973 album Wild Tales on The Old Grey Whistle Test because it is fucking awesome and not at all frustrating.
