Arrests for marijuana possession have spiked in the 77th Precinct, which covers Prospect Heights and Bedford Stuyvestant, the Brooklyn Paper reports
. Over the first two weeks of June, officers arrested 34 people, an average of more than two people per day—above average for the city, and the Paper
reports that the 77th is a relatively small precinct; an expert from a marijuana-law reform organization called the numbers "aberrational," though the precinct's commanding officer denied any stepped-up anti-marijuana program. Nevertheless, marijuana users in the area would be smart not to smoke on their stoops or local subway platforms.
