Thurston Moore Has a Music Video for Menstrual Anthem "Circulation"

Posted by on Thu, Jul 14, 2011 at 1:22 PM

It's the second video from Moore's Beck-produced album Demolished Thoughts, and according to the Matablog, where it was originally posted, it's an expression of "ritualistic love energy" tied up in levitation or transcendence or something like that. Moore has said that the track is about menstrual blood, three goddesses (of creation, destruction and nurturing, respectively), and restoring the earth to a post-apocalyptic matriarchy. The video itself is mostly just dancing, undulating artsy girls, not totally unlike that Beach House video with girls in silver leotards and body paint gyrating with hula hoops.
