In a typically anti-bike article that calls the Prospect Park West bike lane "hated" despite the fact that the local community board requested it and a majority of residents support it, the Post reports that Markowitz claims in a supporting affidavit made public yesterday that it was Sadik-Khan who told him the bike lane was temporary.
Meanwhile over at NY1, during an extensive interview about the new Midtown in Motion high-tech traffic response program, Errol Louis informs Janette Sadik-Khan of Markowitz's claim, to which she responds:
Well that's not true. Every project that we have that's a pilot project has been labeled as a pilot project, and that was not the case with Prospect Park West... It's important to note that this project was asked for by the community, and by the community board specifically.
