Music Photos: Deer Tick at Pier 54, Complete with Close-Up Guitar Shots

While a group of clean-cut Aussies took center stage at Prospect Park, the grizzled and unshaven gathered on Pier 54 along the Hudson River to toast hot-blooded rock 'n' roll. Few do it better than Deer Tick, as photographer Sam Polcer notes: "If I wanted to be pretentious, I'd say that if the Black Dirt Sessions album is the soundtrack to a night drowning your sorrows at some kind of depressing bar, [Deer Tick's forthcoming album] Divine Providence is the sound of your glass smashing against the wall when you decide it's time to go home."
