Music It's a Kurt Vile Kind of Day

"The Creature," a new track recorded during Kurt Vile's Smoke Ring for My Halo sessions, is premiering over at the Matablog. It's part of the six song EP Vile will release on November 6, entitled So Outta Reach. The EP will also feature an ode to The Boss, a cover of Bruce Springsteen's "Downbound Train." That's not streaming yet, but you can watch Kurt Vile and the Violators performing the cover in Pittsburgh earlier this year and compare it to the original (after the jump). In the meantime, the rolling, delicate acoustic fingerpicking on "The Creature" seems fitting for the rain about to patter on the glass, that brush of blue cloud on the horizon mirroring Vile's smoky drawl.
