Consider this a cautionary tale: It's all fun and games on the Tea Party campaign trail until you pass out naked in a bathtub full of your own drug-addled blood.
Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks' debuted the video for their beautifully politically-incorrect track "Senator" this morning, and it has some serious star power. Jack Black plays a cartoon of a Tea Party candidate, shocking his groin with his signature electric llama prod and sniffing coke in between town halls, while comedian DC Pierson makes an appearance as a young campaign saboteur, throwing out all the "re-elect" signs he's given to distribute with his girlfriend, played by Morgan Nagler. At the end of the video (spoiler alert!) Senator Jack Black decides to crash a hipster love-fest back at DC Pierson's place and makes a fool of himself by hitting on the ladies, eventually shocking one with his llama prod. Then he goes upstairs, gets naked in a bathtub and does more cocaine.
It makes sense that the "Senator" video was written and directed by Daily Show writer Scott Jacobson, who clearly aced the Senator's character sketch by magnifying elements of today's absurd political climate. The best/worst part? All of this is not totally unbelievable.
