On Sunday, 100 Brownsville residents fought back, taking to the streets to protest a culture of silence in the face of violence, the Post reports. "It’s not snitching," members of the crowd shouted. "It’s saving a life!”
On Saturday, Councilwoman Letitia James encouraged residents to organize an "Occupy Brownsville" protest, the Bed Stuy Patch reports.
