Photos of Brooklyn Street Art Duo Faile's Finished Houston Street Mural

Last week the Brooklyn-based duo Faile (Patrick McNeil and Patrick Miller) started covering up the huge close-up portrait by French artist JR that had occupied the Tony Goldman-curated Houston Street mural space at the corner of Bowery since June. It didn't take them long to finish it, and last night I finally got a look at the finished product, which is quite stunning as you can see from the above photo and others after the jump.

No word on how long this vintage ad imagery mashup will be there, but judging by the life-spans of previous Houston Street murals by Keith Haring, Os Gemeos, Shepard Fairey and Kenny Scharf, anywhere from four months to a year. Here's some nice video of the Faile mural too, if you need:
