F Trains Won't Go to Windsor Terrace

From January to May, you couldn't get out of Windsor Terrace—Manhattan-bound F trains didn't stop at 15th Street of Fort Hamilton Parkway. Starting Monday, you won't be able to get into the neighborhood: Coney Island-bound Fs won't stop at those stations again until spring of next year, the Kensington Prospect reports. Local councilman Brad Lander had suggested the MTA postpone the planned track work in light of the recent sexual assaults plaguing Windsor Terrace and the surrounding communities.

The MTA was all like, "nah," but it looks like transit police will be stepping up patrols in the area, both underground at the Church Avenue station (for everybody looking to ride back) and above. "For those who choose to walk home from 7th Avenue or Church Avenue," Lander announced in a statement, "the local precincts have agreed to increase their presence, particularly during the darker evening hours."

And if you're still concerned about your safety, you can call the Brooklyn Bike Patrol or another such organization.
