Prospect Park Masturbator Case Given Taiwanese Animation Treatment

In early November, an urban park ranger apprehended a 53-year-old man who was masturbating a few yards away from a Prospect Park playground. When caught, he also had a bag of marijuana and a handgun on his person. People praised the ranger, Andrew Marsala—except his bosses, who reprimanded him for going above and beyond the call of duty.

This made people angry, including Fucked in Park Slope. "Apparently, the Parks Department does not define awesome the correct way," wrote a blogger there.

I have to side with a commenter at the Brooklyn Paper:

Do none of you see why it would be *wrong* for the Park Dept to recognize this as appropriate behavior of one of their employees?! [...] By even saying "good job" to this individual it reinforces inappropriate behavior. Park Rangers are not trained to do security. Simple as that.

This might be a case of vigilantism that turned out well, but the city shouldn't encourage it as a matter of policy lest we have many more instances in which it does not. Anyway, Fucked in Park Slope's dogged coverage of the incident inspired the Taiwanese animators at Big Apple Daily TV to give it their usual treatment. How to animate a man pleasuring himself? Show him literally spanking a monkey, of course.
