Per usual, this year saw a new album from Woods, keeping alive the tradition of them annually doling out a satisfying helping of psych-folk. And per usual, Sun and Shade
is full of contradictions: sunny and dark, strait-laced and twisted, steady and trembling, faithfully following its 60s blueprints and dragging them into the 21st century. And per usual, the band dutifully made the rounds on tour in support of it, spiraling out of New York to the outskirts of Europe (here, listen to one of those shows)
before headlining Bowery
this spring. Now they're back to playing more intimate venues on a quick December jaunt that culminates at Glasslands on Monday, December 19
. Here's the point, though: We're giving away a pair of tickets because it's the season for giving
and we think these might be hard to come by, given the small venue. Tweet at us @TheLMagazine
, and there you go. We'll pick our favorite tweet at 5pm today, while the losers (aw, sorry) can buy tickets right here
. Their creepster cover of "Christmas Time Is Here"
will presumably be played, if it helps.
