So here's what you should do. Quit it. Just stop paying attention for a little while. The lists, and the albums on them, I presume, will still be around a little later on—even into next year, probably!—thereby freeing you up to listen exclusively to Christmas music from now until the 25th, because... well, because it's the right thing to do, and because Christmas music, by its very nature, is so wickedly uncool that there's basically nothing you can do to make it seem any less cool than it already is. Which is a really nice feeling!
To get you started, I give you It's Christmas, Let's Be Glad, a Spotify playlist of my personal favorite Christmas songs—the songs I listen to while wrapping presents or cooking dinner or drinking with friends or just sitting on my couch at night right before we put my daughter to sleep, which it turns out is a really nice time to listen to music. With a few exceptions here and there, the songs don't really change. It's the same list every year, just as it should be. Hope you like it.
*Tune in next week for The L's very own Top 25 Albums of the Year list!!! Ha!?
