Playing to a sold-out crowd of 3,000 at everyone's favorite venue is not a bad victory lap for any band, but coming from one who just a while ago were un-Googable newcomers roughing it at DIY warehouses across the river, it's pretty remarkable. We suppose that's what happens when you make an album as majestic as Girls' 2011 effort, Father, Son, Holy Ghost, casting singer-songwriter Christopher Owens as our damaged heart-of-gold hero and earning him the right to wear denim skorts if he pleases.
L Mag photographer Nadia Chaudhury was at the show, supplying pictorial play-by-plays of Owens' heart exploding on sleeve.
