The resulting art and cocktails were showcased at a free event at the Knitting Factory, where people could take in the competing beverages and art, and see the winners announced -- and to boot, there was a live performance from Radical Dads and free food from Mexicue.
The winning artist, John P. Dessereau, won $1000 and a hand-painted Southern Comfort billboard with his art at N 11th and Wythe, as well as a profile in Brooklyn Magazine. St. John Frizell, the winning mixologist, won a trip for two to New Orleans, the home of Southern Comfort, for his winning "Southern Comfort Gimlet Royale."
Congratulations to the winners, and thanks to all the artists and mixologists who competed. Big thanks also go to the Knitting Factory, Mexicue, Radical Dads and the Knitting Factory for hosting the event last night! Photos by Bex Wade.
