You know what sucks about January in New York City? Everything. Escapism becomes a necessary survival skill in this nasty, brutish month, but there's hardly a better way to do it than getting comfortable with a pair of headphones. Luckily, electronic composer David Vincent Reep (a.k.a. Elephant & Castle) has joined forces with the ever-awesome Merrill Garbus of tUnE-YaRdS to create a delicious new track that is certain to take you places. "En Memoria" comes off of Reep's upcoming March release, Transitions, and out of the sparseness of ambient, trickling synths, delicate acoustic guitar, and a lush underside of warm percussion and vibrant bass, comes a samba-like lullaby cooed by one of indie-rock's most recognizable voices. "En Memoria" definitely makes some chicken soup for the winter soul. Listen below. [via Consequence of Sound]
