A Bank of America location in Williamsburg was granted landmark status on Tuesday, the Brooklyn Paper reports. The branch, built in 1923 on Graham Avenue between Moore and Varet streets, is notable for its architecture (by Eugene Schoen), which is a "rare example of Austro-Hungarian influence in the city." The Paper reports:

Landmarks Preservation Commission Chairman Robert Tierny raved about the building’s “cast-stone” shell, “rusticated columns” and rectangular and round-arched windows, which features classical and Vienna Secessionist ornamentation.

Williamsburg has a high number of landmarked banks: in addition to this one, there's the Kings County Savings Bank on Broadway, an example of French Second Empire-style architecture, the Williamsburgh Savings Bank, also on Broadway, and the Dime Savings Bank on Havemeyer.
