
Landmarks Preservation Commission Chairman Robert Tierny raved about the building’s “cast-stone” shell, “rusticated columns” and rectangular and round-arched windows, which features classical and Vienna Secessionist ornamentation.
Williamsburg has a high number of landmarked banks: in addition to this one, there's the Kings County Savings Bank on Broadway, an example of French Second Empire-style architecture, the Williamsburgh Savings Bank, also on Broadway, and the Dime Savings Bank on Havemeyer.
