Art Thor Destroys, Clumsily Reassembles Coney Island Street Art Murals

In spring of last year pop-up exhibition experts No Longer Empty tapped a group of Brooklyn-based street artists to adorn the ugly blue fencing surrounding a vacant Thor Equities lot at Stillwell and Surf avenues with a Coney-themed collaborative mural. The resulting festive street art composition brightened the blighted corner, until last week the fencing came down to reveal the ugly building behind, and the adorned fence reappeared at a different Thor construction site, very poorly reassembled.
The old Coney Island mural now adorns, in jarringly remixed jumbled form, another Thor lot that's recently been bulldozed at 1752 Shore Parkway in Bensonhurst, reports Amusing the Zillion.
The comically mismatched panels only account for a small fraction of the original Coney Island mural, and it seems likely that the rest of the blue boards featuring works by OverUnder, Veng and Ephameron have met with an even more ignoble end than these poorly put together puzzle pieces.
