
"When I thought about creating the show, I sort of thought about My So-Called Life if Gilda Radner was on it," writer/director/star Dunham told the fashion magazine.
Rest assured, Dunham's skill at capturing a character's most intimate, painful flaws in a poignant, hilarious way will be the focus of the show, which narrates the post-college lives of four women working through their muddled, New York trajectories. So far, the best sneak peek of the show has to be the line where Dunham looks in the mirror and very seriously says, "You are from New York, therefore you are just naturally interesting."
So, yes, finally! A witty, incisive show about women in Brooklyn that doesn't include Hitler puns. From the looks of it, April is shaping up to be a game-changer month for women on TV. Check out the trailer and the glam Vogue behind-the-scenes segment below.
