In 2003, Stuart Murdoch of Belle and Sebastian began writing songs that would eventually become God Help The Girl, first an album, then a musical screenplay. That means it's been nearly a decade that this film has been in the works, but finally in 2012, God Help The Girl is getting produced. Casting for the film has reached out to unknowns, asking for homemade tapes with a scene and a non-Belle and Sebastian song, and the window to submit is finally coming to a close on March 15. According to the film's website, Glaswegians and Brits are preferred (and you are "supposed" to audition in your own, natural accent), but that's no reason not to barrage casting's inbox with your best Trainspotting or Braveheart impressions, right? Och. Listen to God Help The Girl's version of "Funny Little Frog" after the jump, and go here for self-taping instructions.
