The project the series' characters are working on is about a young Southern girl discovering her sexuality, but of course director Lena (played by Dunham) has never been to the South. From the looks of the first episode, which Nerve unearthed and posted this morning, it's got all the hallmarks of Dunham's sense of humor—wry, self-deprecating, bawdy and terrifically awkward. It even stars a younger Audrey Gelman, now known as Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer's star press secretary. Nerve's going to be leaking the full series on Tuesdays and Thursdays in anticipation of Girls' April 15 premiere, so if you like what you see, head here later for more.
