Music The L Magazine Guide to Record Store Day

My daughter's first birthday was on Thursday, April 14th of last year, and my wife and I were looking to have a party for her, with friends, family, the whole thing. The obvious choice, then, would have been to have the party on Saturday the 16th, but after what, to my wife's credit, was not really even a particularly long discussion, we opted instead to have the party the week before, on the 9th, because the 16th also happened to be Record Store Day.

My point? Well, just that this is a pretty big deal for some of us. It's Christmas-like, really, except you spend a ton of your own money on stuff you don't actually need (but you do!) rather than having lots of other people just give you stuff you don't need. This year will be no different. On the following pages, each of our music writers tells you about the records they'll be seeking out.
