East River State Park

Once a lonely patch of waterfront flocked by construction projects, this quasi-bucolic Williamsburg hangout is now a bonafide park. With a long, if dull, stretch of grass to frolick on and rocky waterfront views, it's a scenic place to check out the local scene.

Pros: It's located in the heart of Williamsburg, close to Brooklyn Flea's Smorgasburg on weekends, and generally packed with attractive, young folk
Cons:
Places nearby to fill your basket: Smorgasburg (weekends), Urban Rustic (236 N. 12th St.), Tops on the Waterfront (89 N. 6th St.)
