The Chekhov of the Suburbs is to gin as Toulouse-Lautrec is to absinthe. We once tried to reenact “The Swimmer” (it was a dark, dark summer in our lives), and if we hadn’t run out of tonic somewhere near the Clintons’ Bedford Hills mansion, we would’ve made it.
