Longtime L Mag favorites Oberhofer have graced the internet with a cover of Kanye West's "Runaway," off 2010's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. It's a loyal enough version that it comes off without a hint of irony, which accepted wisdom tells us is a good thing. In most instances, I argue against artists taking liberties with the lyrics of songs they're covering—changing pronouns to fit your own situation/sexuality, etc.—and I suppose I admire Oberhofer for sticking with the original wording there, on the off chance he (like Kanye?) has picked up on something like the inherent irony of referring to a woman as a bitch and then admitting to not understanding women.
