Books Come to Literary Upstart Tonight

Literary Upstart, The L Magazine's annual short fiction competition and reading series, will showcase five of New York's best unknown writers at tonight's first semifinal, where they'll read for a discerning audience including our elite judging panel, at at Williamsburg's extremely schmancy new Wythe Hotel.

Plus! New York City Literary Trivia, during which audience members vie for giveaways and lit cred, and shift in their seats uncomfortably as a sharply dressed Jonny Diamond yells at me from onstage. I love Literary Upstart.
