We're Showing Dirty Dancing at SummerScreen on Wednesday!

We’re not going to let a little rain get us down! SummerScreen returns this Wednesday, July 25, for a night of dancing, retro music, Jennifer Grey’s old nose, and water lifts. That’s right, we’re showing that tale of star-crossed mambo-ing lovers, Dirty Dancing!
This week’s also got some great music courtesy of Todd P. and Showpaper: hardcore act Vaz, psychedelic sister act Prince Rama, and the very special and formerly very secret act Telepathe! Maybe we can rope them into doing a cover of “She’s Like The Wind.”
We’ll be waiting for you at McCarren Park, on the corner of North 12th and Bedford. Doors are at 6, bands will begin at 6:30, and the movie should get going at 8:15. We’ve also got our oasis of food vendors lined up for your snacking pleasure. These include: V Spot, Cemitas, Little Muenster, Brooklyn Bangers and Pizza Moto. Not to mention desserts by dessert truck Coolhaus.
And we have VIP tickets available! Those come with food and drink vouchers, a Coolhaus dessert voucher, and your own private blanketed viewing spot. Because no one puts VIPs in a corner. And, finally don’t forget! The voting is still open for this year’s audience pick, screening on August 15. The films to chose from are: The Goonies, Empire Records, The Lost Boys, Beetlejuice, Scream, Pee Wee’s Big Adventure, or Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Empire Records and Goonies are in a dead heat, so make sure you're heard! Vote here!
