Boardwalk Empire Shoot To Cause (Fake) Explosion In Greenpoint Tonight

Nah, that's just the good old Boardwalk Empire crew, yankin' your chain like the trill pranksters we all know them to be.
DNAinfo reports that the HBO drama will be filming an explosion scene around Commercial and Franklin streets sometime between 10 and 11 tonight.
"This shoot will include a large fire-ball effect residents in surrounding communities and Manhattan may be able to see and hear," said an email from Manhattan Community Board 6. Very high-budg, even for HBO!
Anyway, the moral of the story is that this should be totally uneventful, nothing to see here. Just try to keep your dogs and/or cats from getting too scared — they're the real victims when it comes to scary loud noises.
