Hey, look, it's another chapter of "5 Favorite Things,"
that recurring feature where we check in with bands en route to New York and ask what five things are helping make life in a tour van somewhat bearable. Today we hear from Jone Stebbins, surely no stranger to the road as the bassist for Bay Area pop titans Imperial Teen
—though it's been quite some time since we've had the opportunity to see them here on the East Coast. After a five-year recording hiatus, a tour in support of their hugely hooky 2012 album Feel the Sound
breaks the silence, bringing them to the Knitting Factory
tomorrow night for their first New York show in four years.
This will probably be the best thing you listen to all day. It feels good to have them back.
1. Mono Bass Case
Our touring has involved a lot of flying and running around airports. This soft travel case for my bass makes my life so much easier! So well-made and stylish. Love it.
- This is what we hope Jone's poodle looks like.
2. iPhone Videos of My Old Poodle Dog
Last year I adopted a 14-year-old poodle. I love watching videos I've made of her making her bed and just being hilarious. When I'm away from home I miss her so much and these always crack me up.
3. Oribe Supershine Moisturizing Cream
Travel can be hard on skin and hair. This miracle product smells divine and makes my hair so soft and reflective.
4. Trader Joe's Dark Chocolate Bar with Caramel and Sea Salt
It makes me smiley and laughy (..."Honey Boo Boo" child reference). I know I shouldn't, but it's just so f*#^ing good!
5. Redd Kross's New Record
Puts pep in my step and a smile on my face.
