Get ready for election season by cueing the stars and stripes, dusting off your Obama screensaver—and voting on Brooklyn’s next art star! Well, maybe just do the latter.

All next weekend (September 8 - 9), artists throughout this grand borough will open their studios for the Brooklyn Museum’s GO; visitors get to vote on their favorites and the top 10 will get an exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum. The fate of Brooklyn’s next top artist rests at the tips of your fingers—but you need to register to vote first. Here’s how you do it, after the jump:

1. Go to the GO voter registration page.
2. During open studios weekend, visit at least five studios. All the studios will have a number on them. Text, email, or use the GO app to “check in” by typing in that number. Hint: texting seems to be the easiest option. All you need to do is text studio number to “BKLYN”.
3. After “checking in” to five studios, the Brooklyn Museum will let you know how to vote on your top artists.

Whew! In the coming week, we’ll let you know our picks, give you some maps, and, of course, remind you to vote. It’s going to be effortless, we promise.
