Art Pick: The New Mountain by Oliver Warden at Storefront Bushwick
Why You Should Go: Earlier this year, The New Aesthetic was the byword of moment, sparking countless internet debates, a death match, and of course, a Twitter bot. From the looks of things at Storefront Bushwick, any oomph The New Aesthetic once had has gone away and left some Blade Runner stylings in its wake. That’s not to say the exhibition doesn’t have its moments; it’s just that many of the works in the show seem to be there based on stylistic similarities like bleeding gradients and “fishnet” design.
