Just a Few Excerpts From Iggy & the Stooges' Ridiculous and Wonderful Tour Rider

Tour riders usually read like a laundry list of demands, probably because they're a laundry list of demands or, more specifically, technical requirements needed for a band's stage show coupled with hospitality requests to make the band feel comfortable backstage. They also allow the band (and/or their handlers) the opportunity to flex their rock star egos and dictate what shape their sandwiches should be cut (triangles are popular). They're usually pretty boring to read. But Iggy Pop is not boring, or normal. As such, neither is his tour rider.

The Smoking Gun has gotten ahold of an updated version since first posting it six years ago. Penned by Iggy's longtime stage manager Jos Grain, it's a 28-page manifesto of tongue-in-cheek jokes, observations and completely reasonable requests, like a Bob Hope impersonator for the band's pre-show entertainment. We feel for the Austin City Limits interns tasked with that one as Iggy and his Stooges make their way to the festival next weekend. At their expense, let's take a look at a few highlights:

A quick note about the amps:
