What is the nomination experience like in general? How is it different the second time around?I am having so much fun sharing this honor with the subjects in my film. It's just fun and gratifying to see
them so happy and excited. They are women who have had or have been affected by cancer, so the Oscars are such a terrific antidote to what they have been facing.
What happens to Oscar-nominated shorts after the Oscars?
The Oscar-nominated shorts are distributed in 107 cities as a package via Shorts International. They are screening in many places—big cities and small towns—in independent theaters during the month of February. My film, "Mondays at Racine," will air on HBO later in 2013.
Have you seen the other documentary shorts?
Yes—it's a great and strong line-up!
