Bar 4 in Park Slope has been forced to close on August 15. The bar, on Seventh Avenue and 15th Street, was a popular performance space, home to bands, artists, karaoke—whatever—for the last 14 years. They had the usual problems with the landlord, which every local business seems to run into eventually, but there was also the problem of continuing to draw locals.
"The neighborhood has changed, and so have we," according to the bar's official statement, reported by DNAinfo. "But as one era gives way to another we must face the financial realities that have confronted so many other good, hardworking Brooklynites." RIP, Bar 4.
