East River Seafood Palace? Do they serve tin cans and old tires? Seeing as a google search yields "No results found," I'm guessing you meant East Harbor Seafood Palace.
This is great, but it would helpful to let us know where these spots are! Addresses?
A nice plug for a great bar. However, I should point out that Wandering Star Craft Brewery has never made any cider - and has no intention to. I'm guessing the writer meant Oregon-based Wandering Aengus Ciderworks.
Cheers,

I've had pretty decent meals here: yummy lamb chop and burger, but was definitely disappointed by the Lucy Ricardo, not spicy at all in my opinion.

As a bocce snob it should be noted there are 3 courts but if it rained the night before, there are 2 courts and a mud pit because the sun is blocked from reaching the far right court. Also the rules aren't posted anywhere so it's a free for all.
As a beer snob, I was happy here.
I'll have to come back at night when the kids are sleeping because on a Saturday afternoon it was pandemonium that gave drink on the rocks a whole new meaning.
**pssstttt!!!** Check your spelling!
:D
I've been a couple of times, and been blown away by the ribs. Also, good place to have a drink with the open doors bringing in fresh air, and making the block smell delicious.
Didn't this place open ages ago? A few months back I had the ribs. They were not great.
it also smells like cigarette smoke and fried food and the wine is so overpriced you wonder if you're paying for someone's NYU education...
that line about "pristine tap lines" is no joke. Best tasting beer I've ever had in my life.
Why would the lead in to this be that the new artisanal whiskey and bourbon are not as good as Scotch? Not only is that just not true, it's unnecessarily inflammatory, an outdated viewpoint, and taking away from the real reasons Noorman's Kill is a legitimate addition to our saturating neighborhood. Their Scotch list is great (go for the Bowmore 15 "the darkest" next time; the added time in the sherry butts is more interesting than the 12 year), but so is the entire list.
1) What they're doing right is their ENTIRE inspired list (including the craft stuff in the U.S.).
2)They're pouring tastes at a great price. Instead of paying $12 for four ounces of one spirit they're pouring maybe two ounces and charging $8. It's a win-win, you can be out of there for a lower tab and/or move on to a different dram, sooner.
3)They also do not take advantage of the average customer's knowledge by jacking up the price of something obscure.
I know deadlines can be tough, and a writer is forced to come up with SOMETHING to catch the reader, but this comparison is drivel. Encourage people to explore. Some Scotch out there is gimmicky and sucks, too.
"Maybe you should try looking at nearby street signs before you make assumptions about its name."
Dude, did you read the review?
"The Emerson's attempt to serve that audience falls flat. Its literary leanings feel more arbitrary and convenient (one of its cross streets is Emerson Place) than heartfelt."
It isn't named after the writer and it doesn't cater to writers, instead it caters to the neighborhood's diverse crowd, which you would know if it wasn't your first time in the area. Sorry pasty folks, you'll have to pretend you're hard enough to drink maker's mark elsewhere.
Maybe you should try looking at nearby street signs before you make assumptions about its name.
I was there on Tuesday night; I basically agree with the article; there is still very much a sense of an older nighborhood bar feel when you walk in, and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Only one television, which also is much more indicative of older neighborhood bars. However the bar sits on an eight block "strip" that contains about five other bars, unlike the original Freddys which was pretty isolated. These bars cater more to the upscale newcomers---it will be interesting to see how they relate to Freddys.
