Greasy? I have eaten at McAleer's a number of times when visiting NYC and never found greasy to be an adjective I would use to describe anything at this establishment. The burgers are great and imaginative, the mac&cheese is great, the salads are wonderful, other creations are excellent. Among many who reside on the UWS McAleer's is know to have the best food in the neighborhood. Other bars cannot come close to the variety or quality and the more formal restaurants would do well to try and imitate some of the food. As for the brunch, I have had it several times. I arrive, am seated, order eat and when leaving McAleer's I just laugh at the fools still standing on the sidewalk waiting to get into the other "buttoned up" places on Amsterdam Avenue, yes they were waiting when I went into McAleer's.
masonic and cultural presevation intrigue me and I plan to contact these folks and learn how to link and align my construction endevours and intended achievements to this as well as the entertainment business......spell chex
