Old world Americana relived in this fabulous old theater, especially with the cult movies. A piece of history not to be missed

This new media gallery is currently presenting an exhibition entitled "Urban Meditation" by Ji Sun Lee. Magnificent work and beautifully laid out in this gem of a gallery at the edge of Spanish Harlem. Check out their website: www.medianoche.us
My husband and I went in to pick up our JCPenney item at the 237 Flatbush location and ended up shipping a package we had in our car forever. The shop was clean, bright and well-organized. We found the staff, was extremely friendly and chatted with us about the neighborhood and the store. They offer a variety of services (as listed by the previous reviewer). One cool service they offer is accepting and holding packages for customers--very convenient for all those Amazon and Fresh Direct deliveries. They also have a nice selection of supplies.
These guys are super friendly and professional and it's great to have another new local business to support!
When I first moved into this neighborhood a little over a year ago I was told that if I was having anything delivered to go to Away We Go Postal and setup an account with them. I had just moved to New York and wasn't used to apartment living or the questionable delivery service offered by UPS, FedEx, and the USPS here. I'd had a little trouble back where I'm from in Alabama but nothing that would suggest to me I would need to use a storefront a block and a half away.
I soon learned that the delivery men did not want to deliver packages to my apartment. So, I signed up to have anything from USPS,UPS or FedEx delivered to Away We Go Postal.
It was excellent. When Sasha, the girl who seems to live there received my packages I got a notice in my email (convenient as I am permanently connected to my email, it's a sad sad addiction). When the packages were too large and too many she happily loaned me her dolly.

Your clothing styles are exactly what I look for when shopping around.. And also, your prices are crazy affordable! Nothing at all like what I expected from Williamsburg considering the other boutiques. Definitely coming back with my friends!
It is now Feb, 2011. I bought 3 shirts in June of 2010. The following email thread depicts Sean's business Practice succintly:
Sean,
It has been six months now that you have been in receipt of my payment for three shirts. You had said you'd resolve it in October and I sent you a shirt that I had purchased from you several years ago as a size guide, but you didn't follow through. In fact you didn't even respond to my question regarding color choices at the time.
Stupidly perhaps I believed that you would, so you now have 4 shirts of mine.
I have to say that with the exception of a few incidents with fradulent vendors which I resolved in court, i have never had an experience like this.
This will be last email that I send in an attempt to resolve the problem in this manner. Please send me my money and my shirt.
Thank you.

Good Morning Mr. Norton,
We have a new cut of poplin shirts in. However, rather then sending you the shirts and they don't fit would you send me one of your shirts so I can measure it to insure I send you the proper size.
Please mail it to:

Sean,
I'm writing with regards to the return of three XXL shirts that I bought over the phone from your soho store. They were beautiful.
When I bought these shirts I made clear that I had bought 8 or 10 shirts at your Boston store 3 or 4 years ago. I was told by [Mr.?] Rossen that I could return them if they didn't fit.
I've now been told that I can only obtain a store credit.
I had no way of assuming that the fit had changed so radically since I last bought clothes from you. I am 6'3 and weight 240 lbs. A store credit is not really very useful to me. The Boston store is now closed and it is unlikely anything there would fit me anyway.
I have been a good customer of yours. I attempted to remain one and it didn't work out. I was acting in good faith and was told that I could return these. I believe that you should return my money.
If you begin to make xxxl shirts I can become a customer again. Thank you.
Respectfully,
Stan Norton
Great place, lots of fun, not too crowded.
I love the sale this store is having up to February 28th.
I found the best shoes ever and designers who took my breath away.
Don't miss it.
They are not in Williamsburg any more. Can't wait for their new space! Great people, great events.
Karaoke art-stars Black Waterfall and Bobby Service have taken up residency at Tandem Bar every Wednesday night, sharing their 12,000 song catalog with one and all! The evening is completely free - no pesky tips. Guest performances and underground karaoke art-film premieres. 10:30 PM -2 AM.
This sounds like my kind of place!

A GREAT VENUE---I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT WWW.WILLFILM.ORG ON THE 18TH THROUGH THE 21ST.
I got married there in August. The manager stiffed us on our deposit, breezing past the contractually obligated return date, offering nay but excuses up til this weekend. After three months of misleading us he blew up at my wife, telling her he had "bigger things" he was dealing with. He then suggested we concede our deposit as a "charitable donation." Supremely disappointed.
kick ass sandwiches with a sweet backyard!
One of the most consistently interesting and unpredictable galleries in the city.
This place is called The Green Union Building. I'm having my wedding there next fall. It's beautiful inside - exposed beam ceiling, brick, chandeliers. Really minimal and pretty.
Been biking out to Calexico ever since it opened for the best Mexican I've ever had anywhere on the East Coast (apologies to devotees of Anna's in Boston, but this is better). Can't wait for the Greenpoint location to open a little closer to home.
