"Does an underground mafia of Viet Nam vets really exist hoboing around on the rails and is it as large and powerful as it is portrayed by journalists - or is it a media creation drawing the heat for every murder on the rails from Arizona to California? And has the leader of this group become a changed man - and dedicated to his nineteen year old pregnant girlfriend? Or is he an unrepentant racist criminal bent on plotting to murder a rival over a deal that went sour. When he visits a black man - is it to buy a dog or to kill him? These are the things that come up in John Steppling's dark and controversial play 'Dogmouth'. The fact that he also deftly manages to place ruminations on death and dying, the brutality of existence and the survival of the fittest on the streets of Phoenix, not to mention the breeding of dogs - in the middle of it - is what makes this play dark and riveting, and which takes us far beyond just dog fighting and mysterious murders on the rails...." In a 1,000 years from now what will futurists study about the human race? Answer: The musical culture that was passed on to future generations. This is why "Spider-man Turn Off The Dark" is so important-passing along our culture. Super Laundry Bag (Super Hero For The Arts) :) Spider-man Is Spectacular!!! www.youtube.com/bigswallow2

Cole is hot. Now I need to go take a shower.
@SchulerDouglass: I hesitated at first too, but Atlantic has been producing about one Broadway show per year of late, most recently, it seems, A Life: http://www.atlantictheater.org/page.aspx?i…
I don't think that Atlantic produced A Life in the Theatre - I see a lot of their shows but they're always off Broadway. Their artistic director did direct A Life, which sadly, I also saw. Not really Broadway fare.
I loved Microcrisis. Loved it. Funny script, magnificent acting, thoughtful design, and affordable tickets ($25). This is what gives NY Theater its vitality. I read about all kinds of great plays but can rarely afford to go.
Nice. Teresa Reynolds was awesome.
aw! great review!! spot on, go see the show, only 3 more performances left!!
Not sure where you got the idea that the production Mike Nichols directed at the Beaumont in the 1960s was a failure, but it wasn't. Well, William Goldman in his famous book The Season wrote about how much he detested it, but that was in the context of Goldman complaining that the acclaim it received was undeserved.
@kitt&klux: Could yours be a nicer comment? I think not.
The sonic engineer, Ryan Holscopple, who also plays the creepy guy in the airport drinking coffee and eating chips, creates sonic slaws of rich heavy cream bass, treble spice, and sugary buzzing and crashing that can alternately soothe the psyche or send a listener over the edge, screaming from the theater.
-Could this be a more perfect sentence? I think not.
"to realize that giving the people what they want doesn't mean that good was necessarily done" The good for Who? Please explain who to define this Good.

Wow! The play sounds really good. What a motivating review. I am truly moved.
WOW,
great a artist, strong critical thinking, and excellent art criticism. The perfect ingredients for a meaty review. This is an absolutely pleasure to read.
thank you
Gabriel
So glad to see this artist spotlighted!!!
I am an avid follower of Adrales's work for the past 4 years or so. All of her plays are highly powerful, superbly acted and extremely well guided. She is without doubt one to watch out for
great photo
Performance art needs a new name for you. You exceed the speed limit. But don't slow down. You are a great driver.
