Re: “Many, Many Reasons This New Knife Song Is Just THE BEST

I like! I only know The Knife from Heartbeat, which I loved, and I didn't get too into the album. She does a Kim Gordon-esque talk-singing here. If you like the steady minimal-techno beat you might also like "Diamond Girl" by Beatamines

Re: “Sex, Love, and Brooklyn: Lacy's Guide to Brooklyn's Underground Sex Parties (Part 2)

Over-weight people aren't attractive and they should go on diets and stop over-eating and doing things that make then over-weight.

Re: “Sex, Love, and Brooklyn: Lacy's Guide to Brooklyn's Underground Sex Parties (Part 2)

It might be mean, but it's generally true. I'm sure she just meant there weren't any morbidly obese people there. Curves are nice. I wouldn't want a party full of waifs.

Re: “Sex, Love, and Brooklyn: Lacy's Guide to Brooklyn's Underground Sex Parties (Part 2)

"To my pleasant surprise, that wasn't the case. Plus, all the guests were incredibly attractive. I guess this is where sending in your headshot helps. There was not a single overweight person there."

Right. I guess it needs to be said again. It really isn't cool to say that overweight people are not attractive. Just makes you sound like an awfully narrow-minded person. And it's mean.

Re: “Sex, Love, and Brooklyn: Lacy's Guide to Brooklyn's Underground Sex Parties (Part 1)

Personally, I can't wait for the next update. I so resonate with
"I'm so innately anti-authority, I have a hard time even following a recipe". And I totally agree with "For me, sex is best when it revolves around non-verbal social clues. I like the art and the mystery of reading body language. Someone touches my arm, someone looks me in the eye from across the room — do they want to fuck me? For me, the thrill of interpreting subtext is as powerful as the act of sex itself. The uncertainty of looks and whispers excites me as much as physical foreplay." Really well said. I have never been able to put my finger on why sex clubs often leave me cold - as I am a pretty uninhibited, sex-positive kind of gal- but I think you've given me great insight. I'm not interested in sex for sex sake - I want chemistry and intrigue and some personal connection. But very curious how the next play parties turn out!

Re: “Sex, Love, and Brooklyn: Lacy's Guide to Brooklyn's Underground Sex Parties (Part 1)

it sounds like you are the wrong pussycat to be covering this gig. too shy, too full of fears. you have to be open to all senses, completely uninhibited, and if fear rules your heart, then willing to cast it by the way side and surrender all senses and your mind and body to pleasure. ecstasy comes, but only to those who leap into the unknown.

Re: “Full-Album Nostalgia Concerts Are Kind of Sad, Right?

I was at the Breeders show. It was completely awesome. There was no ghoulishness to speak of. It was really fascinating and fun to see how that complex, weird long-player all fits together. Pedals, tiny amps, different guitars, gigantic Hawaiian wind chimes, violin, distorted harmonica microphone. It was rad. The Breeders are a breath of fresh air in these culturally toxic times, whether they're playing new stuff or old.

Re: “Lena Dunham Is In Playboy

Miss Iverson - please checkout a couple of episodes of Roseanne and tell me that "Girls" is the first program to breakaway from female stereotypes. Dunham is wonderful, but I look at "Girls" as the next generation's version of "Sex in the City". Eventually The Onion will gourd your ox and it's up to the reader to decide if the humor is juvenile, or you're taking yourself too seriously.
