you forgot Arts In Bushwick and El Puente, I think this crash course needs more research
Very interesting to read all the comments. Yes, I agree that all parties can be a hit or miss at any given time - so to critique any of these entities written above solely based on one visit is probably not a true write up about these entities, their parties and their organizers.
NY City is ever so changing that one goes down the other comes up. Case in point ---
A new Entity called Tri-State Swingers Group has been quietly building up for the last couple of years that I know of. They are "Unique" in that the founder(s) have been building up their presence and membership base on various well know Swing Sites as well as developing their own Brand - very different than all others - simply to stay out of competing with others - and instead fill in the gaps where others have not been paying attention.
One particular example of filling the gap(s) is the Launching of the Annual East Coast Swing Life Convention - hosted by Tri-State Swingers Group - in affiliation with the EXXXOTICA's Love & Sex Expo(s) in Edison & Atlantic City, NJ.... this to me is talking a bold step which no other local club or group even thought of.
I would say, keep a watch on this new arrival on the scene and what they have to offer... YOU MAY BE PLEASANTLY SURPRISED !!!
A Veteran Lifestyle Member since the days of "Platos Retreat" and the legendary Larry & Mary Levenson duo..... had the privilege to be friends with them :)

Let's see if this summer I actually go to more than 1 event listed on lists like these.
Its been three years since they brewered all of their year round stuff in Wilkes-Barre. How is the wool still pulled over everyones eyes? This is not a local brewery. And you bartenders should really know that. 6 POINT is a Marketing ploy!
SIXPOINT IS NOT LOCAL
Most of the girls asking this question how to get right body shape? they expecting the answer done which is done quickly. because they do not have the time to think before they think at the time of the requirement only for these type of people your article will help you thanks
This is such a through listing of the borough but you really neglected to check out and mention anything in Prospect Heights/Crown Heights, where there is so much happening right now. I hope to see this updated soon.
Where's the shared Google calendar with this stuff??
where do you RSVP for these concerts?
Ugh, there's no point in posting about Solange if it's already sold out. *sigh* :( I guess I'll just go stand outside of the park and listen (no point in buying a badge--I get back from vacation literally just in time to run to McCarren)...
Losing my butt-cherry (to a tall, cute crossdresser) did not hurt at all. It's the best sex I've had so far. I can't understand why more pretty boys don't come after my well-maintained booty!
Any chance you could highlight '30 great artists under 8'?
Yeah, who's the third interviewee? Y'all didn't identify who he/she is or where he/she works.
Congratulations for celebrating 10 year..Great to know about that..

Given that my signature drink to order happens to be the apparently-dreaded LIIT, I'd wager that the *real* reason these guys and gals revile it is that, put bluntly, half of them wouldn't know how the Dickens to make a proper one. When I ask for one, and either get a weird look (as if I'd just made a lurid proposition), or see her/him reach nervously for some dog-eared notebook, I hold up my hand and switch to a G&T. Really, guys, I'm not here for coolness points - I just want a drink.
Bartender #4 has no name or bar....?
i host many couchsurfers and rarely give keys or let people stay while im at work. get real Peter Geoghegan.sometimes i have time off as i am a commercial fisherman and tree cutter so i have the luxury of being able to show my guest the area, but to arrive with the attitude that your article implies, is ridiculous indeed. as a frequent host and an occasional guest i think you sound like someone i would possibly invite to keep on your merry way after the second night. couchsurfing is not a hotel, hostel, resort, or welfare program. pitch in, make conversation, food, bring drinks, ask questions, etcetera.... if you don't like where your at do some typing and find another host. doubt your old lady will be around next time as she has probably realized you are an inadequate planner as well as a whiner and a self entitled kook.
@The Truth: Sorry, kiddo, if you think Manahatta is the living end, you haven't been here long (or perhaps you're just terribly impressionable). As a Manhattan-born expat, the island was happening about two decades ago. Brooklyn stole that thunder a while back, but I cringe at the encroaching Manhattanization going on here.
People, you are Funny and very, very critical! I say love it all and it is a must to work towards making every area of NY a better place, having Brooklyn being one of them! Chill with Love!
