Re: “A "Sandy" Hook: Stand Clear of the Closing Doors

Yeah, that's a really questionable headline....if we're glib about violence we get used to it.

Re: “A "Sandy" Hook: Stand Clear of the Closing Doors

Really with this headline? A pun playing off the mass murder of dozens of children? Really?

Folks interested in representations of the Bowery in art might also appreciate the long-form serialized webcomic, Bowery Boys (http://BoweryBoysComic.com).

Re: “Native Son

If you follow Ang Lee's comments about himself and his career, he expressly -- and correctly -- states that he is a CHINESE director; not American.

The first film he worked on in the US was the first by Spike Lee. But if you look closely, you'll note that his early screenwriter, James Schamus, is Jewish (New York), and the "whites" in "Pushing Hands" and "The Wedding Banquet" are Jewish (New York). Not everyone views Jews as being "white". And his "Ride With the Devil" has an African-American lead character.

Re: “Blue Jasmine: It's About Mia Farrow!

I agree with this brilliantly worded piece. I was trying to find something online to show a friend why I felt that Blue Jasmine, while on the surface was about Madoff, was more about Mia.

That ending.. what can I say. Hell hath no fury, etc.

Re: “The Fault In Our Porn Stars: Lucky Bastard

That's the best headline ever.

dhgpiano32b0: You're right. That was a major error. Thanks for catching it and I'm sorry we didn't.

Re: “New Directors/New Films: Found Memories

The movie was a bit slow for me but believe the pace was intentional to convey the desired atmosphere. Contrary to the previous comment, much thought went into the making of this film. The ending was priceless and even a little creepy. One cannot help but reflect on the inevitable brevity of life.

Re: “Mode in France: “I Began Modeling to Exist More Fully”

Hello,
do you know where can I find this documentary?
I would like to watch it online if possible (streaming).
Alternatively, to buy it.
Thanks.

Re: “The Ballad Of Mexico’s Drug Lords: Narco Cultura

While I enjoyed this review, I'm sure I can't be the first person to notice a unintentionally hilarious typo. In the beginning of the third section Joseph Neighbor writes "Meanwhile, Soto and his colleagues, wearing baklavas to protect their identities...". As I read this, a deep-rooted chuckle came up from my gut as I envisioned the men with honey syrup and chopped nuts dripping down their faces from the pastries atop their heads, which instead should have been covered by BALACLAVAS. Too bad spellcheck can't take context into consideration!

Re: “Sneakquels! Your Guide to NYC Movie Theater-Hopping

This is an awesome article thank you; I'd also like to add AMC bay plaza in the bronx, there are two sides so as long as your movie is on the same side there's no one to stop you, plus unless its the weekend there is usually no ticket checker on the opposite side either.
