Re: “The 20 Best Bars in Brooklyn

Greenwood Park had a NOTORIOUS fight with the stroller-set. They no longer allow kids AT ALL!! Some group of asshole teachers said, "we deal with kids all day and we don't want to see them at the bar!"

I really don't care either way, but here's what I think: "I went to school for 21 fucking years and I don't ever want to see another teacher again!"

Re: “The 20 Best Bars in Brooklyn

Isn't Greenwood Park notorious for NOT allowing kids? I was almost positive they had a strict no one under 21 policy after 4 PM.

Re: “We Can Do Better: The 10 Most Overrated Foods

soy, corn, bread, and cheese are the foods i think are the most overrated. try to order something at any mainstream restaurant that doesn't contain gluten, soy, corn, or dairy. even the salads have soybean oil/corn oil in the dressing, cheese, and then comes with meat that is breaded (with flour that contains gluten) and then fried.

20 Best Bars for L Mag editors to frequent (and frequent and frequent) so as to maintain cool detachment and perpetuate perennial out-of-touch-ness with bulk of their readership

Re: “The 20 Best Bars in Brooklyn

Frankly, it's refreshing to see a best-of list that isn't the same obvious, overhyped spots.

Re: “The 20 Best Bars in Brooklyn

As a Windsor Terrace resident, I am thankful that the author considers my hood outer outer, rather remain in its current fashion to reduce the Double Windsor spill over effect.

Does Pork Slope have a substantial amount of TVs? That is pretty important for a sports bar.

Re: “The 20 Best Bars in Brooklyn

Yeah this list wreaks of lameness what about beloved for cocktails?
It's a very Proto-cool vibe list, coolest bar not even open yet (?) and coolest bar that's closed down(???). Give us all a break with your list. Do some work you fucking lazy ass bitch.

Re: “The 20 Best Bars in Brooklyn

this list is total garbage. 200 5th best sports bar? what about fucking PORK SLOPE a few blocks away?
Kensington/Windsor Terrace is "Outer Outer Borough" but Bay Ridge somehow isn't?

And seriously - LARRY LAWRENCE?

Was this written by a 23 year old who moved here a month ago from Kansas?

Triple thumbs down - you guys suck.

Ugh. Larry Lawrence is the worst. No Name Bar in Greenpoint should have been an easy pick for best outdoor space.

Re: “Hamilton's: Kensington Gets a Nice Bar

The reason there are no drinks is because of Hamilton's proximity to the church and the school. They are only able to obtain a license for beer and wine.

Re: “Hamilton's: Kensington Gets a Nice Bar

I love Hamilton's. It is definitely a worthy destination for those outside the neighborhood, and not just for the craft beers and ambience, the food is outstanding.

Re: “Do Bud Lights Belong in Carroll Gardens?: Union Grounds

in total disagreement with the author of this article. grew up in manhattan and love me a wide swath of bar types, from fancy cocktail to dive and sports - and this one is just consistently great fun. i also actually really like the food (even vegetarian options) and the scene here is always lively but not too in your face. also the owners are super friendly, helpful, inviting and approachable. i love this place! if anything about this place is offensive honestly it's this review!

Re: “The Brooklyn Food Power Rankings

@Jonny Diamond
Care to explain how the food critics from the Voice and Times -- both Manhattan based -- manage to cover the rest of the borough without resorting to "vicious takedowns of old diners in Gravesend"?
If you're going to write exclusively about yupster Brooklyn, why not just include that in the title?
PS Might want to look into some spam detection filters for the site's comments.

Re: “Do Bud Lights Belong in Carroll Gardens?: Union Grounds

Thanks for the article. Fair and balanced. I'm on the side of this being a good thing for the neighborhood. Their menu is up on their site for all to see http://www.union-grounds.com

Fills a Niche? Angry Wades just a couple blocks away shows every NFL game. Went here once and it gave me a headache. Who wants to be 2 ft away from 20 TV screens?
