The 39 Steps is playing at the Helen Hayes Theatre, so it is pretty limited to say that the best show you’ve seen recently (twice!) is The 39 Steps ... and your favorite New York City venue to see a show in is the Helen Hays Theater. Your answer makes me feel that this is the only show you've seen (twice).

MoMA's upcoming Marina Abramović retrospective (http://moma.org/visit/calendar/exhibitions…) introduces an interesting wrinkle to the already confounding lines between artifact, context and accident in performance art: she'll be performing a completely new piece, while other performance artists re-stage some of her most memorable works. Can one really perform someone else's performance art without making it one's own? What is the artifact in this case: the new performance, or the original being mimicked? Should there be some kind of licensing system for the reproduction of performance art as there is in theater?

Sounds awesome. Unfortunately will have to make do with my text instead ;(. But seriously, I feel that the Twelfth Night is one of Shakespeare’s most musical of plays so even in a modern context it must be translating amazingly well. When reading the play itself, the humor, wit and sarcasm knocks my socks off. There is a lot of information on the use of music in Twelfth Night available at Shmoop. Check it out for some interesting trivia as well.

By the book staging? who is this reviewer? This is a dangerously adventurous staging of this play! It's ballsy. It's intimate. It's freakin' scary. Which production are you comparing this one to reviewer? i'm thinking you like to be spoon fed your meals... I very very very much disagree with you. You need to go see more theatre before you wax poetic with you Criticism... This staging is masterful!

I saw this on PBS over xmas break. Totally bad.
Trinity and Beyond: The Atomic Bomb Movie is much artier and scarier. And it's on YouTube.
