Re: “Your Brief Guide to NYC's Underground Sex Parties

Recently two email’s were sent by me to numerous source in business, and government around the world. My initial intension was not to politic, or mirror to other characters both infamous, and famous. Yet, the more I studied, particularly about the issues expressed in the correspondence mailed, the greater became my personal awareness the problems mentioned have been around through centuries. Obviously, if something needed to be said without offending, then I had to determine how to write something terse. Additionally, the idea had to be written without suggesting irreverent similarities, which too wordy would be about like describing a conclusion for either the rape of Persephone, or the archaic philosophical idea about universal ends. It was already understood by me that at the moment an idea written became translated as if negative, then all focus of that particular reader would immediately cease. Nothing written thereafter would be of any interest to the reader no matter how thoroughly proven, researched, inferred, or intended. Nonetheless, without intensionally offending I had to ask: “How can something be written about this topic without making irrational conclusions like: “How old is God, Should the noun Holy only apply to seniority, and what is a child? Hence, accepting the mathematical theorem, Grand Unification, I determined not to count either a beginning, or end in pairs. This does not suggest I did not foresee anything wrong with an idea like counting sheep, it does mean my willingness to get a point across did not allow me to sleep. Be that as it may I sent two email which eventually grew to three among private notes. I then told myself: “Hey while some may have been culturally educated to either be, or pretend to be Internet monitors through whatever conditional learning means, there remains two issues at hand.” One: international web site introductory ideas, once archaic, which uses underage children, myths, or legends like scair structures to block gateway access is not always functional, depending on audience, and area. Two: it is not a question about philosophical, or sexual preference which determines an illness, it is the treatment. Therefore, while these three terse written paragraph may need editing please read the enclosed as pertains not only to bitter issues, but identity theft since BC:

Recently I had the opportunity to do business in the gay and lesbian part of Dallas, Texas. What most people in the area are unaware is that part of the Shiite sacred code insists on a death penalty to all homosexuals. According to Author Rushdie in his book:"Satan's Verses," these were written errors. While most in the US don't concern themselves with such matters local police are expected to monitor unwritten hearsay drug abuse, and predator complaints with complainants expecting the use of reptile and exotic animals used to punish the wrongdoers. This is an unwritten occurrence, while elected officials expecting Sunni sacred codes accepted in greater numbers to keep them popular among constituents. Please read the following:

Recently a woman was fired from Wall mart for killing her child and cutting off the child's

arms. Since she had been declared incompetent by a judges order no criminal record

exists. Sometimes people do things without a judge ever becoming involved, and remain in

society when hideous acts of extreme violence and hate crimes are considered civil. Another

incident was when during a Muslim Convention up north Jews, and Christians came under

severe attack for no reason at all suffering injuries while police only proclaimed to be

short handed, and unable to protect the innocent. Numerous errors throughout time have

appeared in various religious doctrine including the Sikh, suggesting universal destruction

for an eternity as intelligence, and certainly the Christian Bible is no exception

especially the Old Testament. Certainly the introduction of anarchy into Sufic Sultan

hierarchy, deemed Satanic, or Pagan has been around since before the common era creating

confusion during World War II, and the Vietnam War. For instance the Swastika, an ancient

symbol in India, once represented unconditional love, later being suggested as changed

during WWII as offensive. Such erroneous records have led some to suggest use of

misinterpreted records for punishment, Revalational intent, and any Shiite translation as

civil, while awaiting luxuries as elect. In fact, during World War II, and the Vietnam era

ancient Pagan rituals involving sacrifices by use of reptiles and animal, who devour

themselves into extinction, were implemented as criminal sanctions to punish people for

lust and sin. While the New Testament may not, according to some disgruntled scholars,be

perfect it remains a normal media which allows mediation rather than aggressive solutions.

While I understand why written errors contrary to any revelatory history, math, and

science exists in various philosophical records, and do not oppose religion, a recent Sikh

attack proves that not everyone is concerned about mediating acceptable translations.

Intensional murder is not exactly accepted by most Muslims, or Moslem. The Pagan LLammas

often used to suggest Islam consisted of drug induced sex orgies with the word orgy meaning

court. Sacrifices were made by use of reptile and animal who devour themselves into

extinction. Such rituals used to make trade exchanges in similarity with Islam by malice

aforethought is hardly a victim-less crime like Christmas. Hence, this is a failed extremist

control.

One of the worse violations to any Bill passed in congress, for the protection of people, women, children, and victims of violence, is public data allowed accessible by public data.com. While the site advertises being used by police personel, the information becomes available to anyone wishing to track down peoples relatives, those who have suffered as victims of assault, and violence, to include making anyone and everyone a related victim to almost any kind of scheme. This site doesn't prevent predators, or extremist, it nourishes such making everyone a potential victim. This type of monopoly is extremely dangerous. Sex offenders was the ploy to suggest such a monopoly which also is misleading. The largest percentage of child predators are relatives, and neighbors in all instances. The type of predator who stalks children began his, or her career with incest, according to law makers statistics. The ones who go after young male or female are usually the same gender, else have similar verbal, and audial learning functions within their autonomic nervous system pertaining to neurological basis. The source on such case studies protect their information under laws related to psychiatric protection associated with doctors, and lawyers. Generally, while those professional type are protected the predator (s) went untreated. Predators usually seek out employment that presumes some function to allow them to conceal their sexual interests, and patterns, while allowing access to greater numbers in victims. Predators seldom confess their crimes, they accuse others transferring guilt by association. Public data.com has allowed its information to be used to cause greater crimes than prevented. That is no laughing matter.

Did You Hear the Joke About the Predator Drone That Bombed?
Obama's 'joke' at the White House correspondents' dinner was no laughing matter to the relatives of the hundreds of people killed in Pakistan by drones. http://www.alternet.org/
August 25, 2012. Predators often are people who conceal, or transfer guilt through association: (NEWSER) – Location-based flirting app Skout has suspended its service for minors after the arrests of three men accused of raping young people they met by posing as teenagers. Execs at the company, which set up the service for 13- to 17-year-olds last year after discovering that large numbers of minors were already using the app, say they worked hard to put safeguards in place, and are stunned by the attacks, reports the New York Times. The youngest victim was a 12-year-old girl in California. http://www.newser.com August 25, 2012. While it has been suggested that child predators are people with genetic traits from birth, particularly among twins, other factors according to recent studies conclude more factors in development should be considered: According to studies written about by author Rich Deem, "The role of the hypothalamus in sexual orientation was further studied by Swaab, et al. Other researchers had hypothesized that differentiation of the hypothalamus occurred before birth. However, Swaab's study showed that the sexually dimorphic nucleus (SDN) of more than 100 subjects decreased in volume and cell number in the females only 2-4 years postnatal. This finding complicated the findings of the brain studies, since not only chemical and hormonal factors, but also social factors, might have influenced this process."http://www.godandscience.org, August 25, 2012. Too many ideas about the gay gene offer no significant evidence to conclude what relationship DNA has to do with sexual preference. " The question of genetic influences on sexual orientation could be definitively answered by using DNA microarray technology, although, to my knowledge, no such studies are planned or in progress." http://www.godandscience.org, August 25, 2012. Public data used to influence determination of one's sexual orientation, or their autonomic potential in order to prevent possible offenses, is the worse fiasco since the Sikh Shiate became primitively assiciated with the idea of a perfect Pagan marriage. In the last words of Gandhi: "An eye for an eye will make everyone blind." Paraphrazing ahead of any patience awaiting the evolution of the Internet via World Wide Web, if microarry technology infers that neutrino type organism are in fact part of the Grand Unification Theorum in development of autonomic twin studies located in the brain, then learning differnce between audial, and visual would prove peripheral advantages probably among triplets without natural selection. It doesn't suggest cannibolistic predator type intellegence, just things beyond current gay and lesbian studies, which in times past have been slightly one sided. "I'm telling you there's an enemy that would like to attack America, Americans, again. There just is. That's the reality of the world. And I wish him all the very best." --George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., Jan. 12, 2009. Thats a tough act to follow. Thank you George Bush, who made voice overs a tele-marketing aide in Central Intelligence Agency job opportunities. Whats the bottom line? Cultural appreciation with its philosophical microarray has influenced neurological studies. Often those who made sense out of confusion became victims themself, as Doctor Jerri Levi, an infamous neurologist once proved who had to recant her own second opinion about double verbal hemisphere male and female studies, with Levi returning to primitive basics to retain employment in an all male environment. One former such person with a Phd called Doctor Love, who suggest that child predators were people whose cultureral limitation compelled stagnant patterned sexual fantasy like road maps, cannot be located on the World Wide Web without the use of public data. While the federal and state constitution support local penal codes in the United States to conclude exceptions to international obscenity laws, public data.com isn't an evolution defined by natural selection, but a fiasco like a detanator on dirty bomb.

According to the article: "This is your Brain," by Michael John Cusick sexual expression can be use to heal spirituality which scientific phenomena does not explain. This isn't to suggest that all needed is sexual promiscuousness, but visual enhancement among adult development within societies double, and singular verbal hemisphere existence a must. What Mr. Cusick doesn't mention is that what may be observed as High School training field among marital relationships being moderation for some might be a little dramatic for others. Another missing element necessary in comprehending philosophical illusions in Mr. Cusick's article are triplet studies. Furthermore, according to Mr. Cusick, Doctor Love was correct in that fantasy maps predators use to consider children as targets can be changed through visual enhancements. The Bottom line is that perhaps Jesus Christ was ahead of his time.

How this addiction damages your mind—and how to rewire it.

If some malevolent being held a competition to create the perfect delivery mechanism to enslave our human desire, Internet pornography would win the grand prize. Online pornography is fundamentally different from the Playboy or Penthouse of past generations. If the magazines, videos and DVDs of the past were like the Wright Brothers’ plane at Kitty Hawk, then Internet porn would be a supersonic jet.

Although supersonic jets are impressive for military use or high-speed travel, you wouldn’t want one landing in your backyard. But this is the impact Internet porn makes on the brain. Its sheer power and intensity create a heightened level of stimulation that your brain was never intended to experience. Because of this, the brain of a person regularly using porn can change and shape itself to resemble neuropathways similar to those of an alcoholic or drug addict.

EVERY THOUGHT, FEELING, HABIT, SKILL, OR BEHAVIOR IN YOUR LIFE HAS A CORRESPONDING NEUROPATHWAY THAT FIRES IN YOUR BRAIN.

Without understanding porn’s impact on the brain, too many people either quit trying to change or carry unnecessary guilt and shame when their spiritual zeal and will power aren’t enough. Can you relate? Here’s what you need to do to combat porn’s powerful hold on your mind.
First, know the basics
If you remember anything about the brain as it relates to porn, remember the chemical neurotransmitter dopamine. Known as the “gotta have it” molecule, dopamine has been described by one brain expert as the gas that fuels our desire engine. This neurotransmitter involves anticipation and expectation.

When we imagine eating at a favorite restaurant, shopping for a new gadget or having sex, the brain releases dopamine and our senses call out, Gimme, gimme, gimme! The more intense the experience, the more dopamine is released in the brain. Without this neurotransmitter, we would stay in bed all day with no motivation to eat or pursue meaningful goals, relationships, or sexual pleasure. Dopamine is the neurotransmitter behind all motivation in life.

How porn rewires your brain
Every thought, feeling, habit, skill, or behavior in your life has a corresponding neuropathway that fires in your brain. These pathways are designed to function optimally. However, as the brain’s reward circuitry gets entangled in a tug of war, the brain rewires itself for addiction and new neuropathways are created.

Every time a person views porn, or eventually even thinks about porn, the burst of dopamine strengthens the connections between cells. The stronger the connection, the easier it becomes for cells to communicate on that path. This idea of the brain changing itself is called neuroplasticity. Whether learning to ski, learning to speak a foreign language, or looking at porn, the more we use a particular neuro pathway, the more our brain changes, making the pathway stronger.

These neuropathways are like footpaths across a field of waist-high grass. Walking across the field when the grass is so high requires significant effort. But each time you walk along the path, it gets easier. The grass gets trampled, worn down, and eventually becomes a dirt path.

Someone who doesn’t watch porn, or is not yet addicted, has yet to develop sensitized “weed-whacked” pathways. But the porn neuropathways of someone whose brain is addicted are weed-whacked and trampled down so that they have become the path of least resistance. Porn becomes the path of least resistance in the brain. And the easier the path, the more likely we are to take it, even when we don’t want to. The creation of this path of least resistance is called sensitization.

You can reboot your brain
The good news is, your brain can be changed in a positive and healthy direction. Our brains can be rewired from their addictive patterns. Just as you can reboot your computer and reset the hard drive, you can reboot your brain and restore the sensitivity of your brain circuits. On a computer, it’s as simple as pressing the power button or clicking a pull-down menu to restart. However, rebooting your brain may be the most difficult thing you’ve ever done.

How do you do it? Here are three ways to give your porn-saturated brain a reboot.

1. Practice intentional thinking. What you think about is ultimately what you become. What we once called “the power of positive thinking” is increasingly backed by scientific evidence. The more attention your brain pays to given input, the stronger and more elaborately it will be wired and retained in the brain. When we give our attention and focus to good things, like peace, joy, and self-control, our brains rewire themselves in a way that allows us to experience those good things. Wouldn’t it make sense, then, to be intentional about what we give ourselves to?

2. Pursue alternate passions. The famous philosopher, novelist, and poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe was right when he said we are shaped and fashioned by what we love. Certainly this applies to our brains. The life focus of a person struggling with porn leads to tunnel vision. When people view porn on a regular basis, their passions are held captive, and they forfeit the ability to direct their life in the way they would otherwise choose. Pursuing alternative passions expands your horizons and rewires your brain at the same time.

3. Employ the power of repetition. Studies show that repeated behaviors, over time, cause structural changes in the brain. These changes can be negative, causing compulsion and addiction. Or they can be positive, rewiring the brain so the stimuli of porn and lust are no longer a reflexive reaction. Repetition helps lock behaviors in the brain in the same way an athlete develops muscle memory. Be encouraged. Your struggle with porn is a learned response, in many ways, just like the athlete. Your brain can unlearn, and it can change.

I also work in a sex toy store. I've never thought of myself as a sex worker either. It's not like there's any actual sex going on in the store... except on DVD. I guess we are "in the industry", though, if only tangentially.

Re: “Your Brief Guide to NYC's Underground Sex Parties

Wow. Talk about confusing contradictory posts. People have different tastes. No two people see the same thing exactly the same way. People should assume diverse definitions of "attractive", "gross", "crazy".

Do I trust the article? Do I trust any of the comments here? Why should I trust any of them? I don't know these people, and I've given-up assuming that people don't have personal agendas (nutty, sick or otherwise).

Me? I'm a 50 year old white man, divorced, single, unattached, hungry. Seems ludicrous to write this, but men and women of all ages are typically surprised I'm much over 40. I'm cute, good-looking, in great shape, nice, well-dressed, very intelligent, clean, blah..blah. I should not have a hard-time meeting women that I'm attracted to. I can when I make the effort.

However, every now and then I want to be in a very erotic environment, where I can let my sexuality come-out without feeling dirty, akward or at risk. I want to be in an environment that's the opposite of the read world: where violence, rudeness, pretense, self-righteous judgment, and repressiveness is the norm. I want it replaced with natural sexuality expressed without shame, appreciated, accepted, encouraged.

The following is my attempt at sharing some funky "group sex" experiences I've had. These are my only such experiences. They are so pathetic as to be humurous. The length of this post is outrageous, I know. Think of it as my attempt to have sex in pubic with the idea of having sex in public. "Oh, the keyboard feels so rigid and tight! ;p) Anyway, if you don't like it, feel free to hit the buzzer and a another web link. -Peace, Love and Happiness.

I've been to one event, in NYC. It was billed as a sex party with a very nominal cover of $25. It was held in a basement-space of under an old bar in an old brick building in the Greenwich Village Area. One of the people that worked there told me the space was usually used for gay parties. No problem for me. The young women trying to seduce me there were actually female. I learned the difference from living for four years in Thailand ("If woman look too perfect, he isn't", etc.)

The place consisted of a long-narrow mingling-area with bare brick walls, low mood lighting, a bar with tender, long cushioned seat-boxes, and some small round bar tables and chairs. No windows. Clean bathrooms. In other words, it was a reasonable approximation of a thousand small up-scale bars in the Cit, but with definite signs of aging and weariness. While the surfaces deemed seem tacky, there was still a hint of tackiness to the place. Was it a slight scent of mustiness, or a the stale smell of past drinks? Were the cheap "working girls" perfumes mixing with a hint of gym sweatiness? Probably all the above. In any event, none of it was overpowering. I certainly didn't want the lights turned-up more.

In the back was a raised platform with dividers. In between them were large futon-like mattress covered in darkly-colored sheets and pillows. Upon quick inspection, them seemed cleaned. Yeah.

To my chagrin, I found that all the women were looking for some extra cash. They doled out services at a discount rate--quantity over quality. The women were over 18 but seemed all below 25. The majority seemd African American and Hispanic. For the most part, they all seemed fairly attractive to me. None were gross. None were stunning. The guys, on the other hand, looked between 30-50 and a bit confused. People either drank of left. The girls were relentless flirts, which had it moments for me.

I desire going-in was to having as much sex with as many women as I could. I was not interested in sharing with another guy. I was fine watching others having sex, but only if they were good-looking.

This was my first time having sex with other people around and watching. Did it turn me on? I'm not sure. I didn't pay that much attention to others. It seemed weird at the time. I felt the eyes of some male voyeurs on me. Without women voyeurs as well, it felt a bit creepy.

Nevertheless, I felt the thrill of my first time being able to walk-up to and have sex with a woman at a party, with the rest of the part not minding in the least. The thrill turned into a moment of feeling "dirty", which then turned into a long-lasting feeling of freedom. Not that it was free. Also, full nudity and full-service was off the menu. I had the feeling doing otherwise would leave everyone too much at risk if the NYPD paid a visit.

There were fetishes on exhibit, per say. No bondage, latex, fresh fruit and vegetables or toys. Not even boa feathers or use of ice-cubes. I'm not into pain or humiliation. Being at a group hooker meet were almost everything interesting is off the menu was enough, thank you. This was boring and un-erotic for me. I went, I came, I left. End of story.

All together, I think I spend around $125 for drinks, flirting, watching. fondling and a blow-job. Was it worth it? It was an experience. I've had far worse with blind dates. Would I do it again? I haven't, and it's been fifteen years since them.

I didn't want to pay per-person and per-expression of sexuality. I'm good-looking and erotic, and I wanted to meet same without a cash register between us, and with no I have no idea how to find them. I am confident that my ideal party would not be advertised on a public access website or promoted in a public forum/chat-room. I don't know anyone I think would know or would admit to it.

So, here is the reality: without doing my homework and taking the time to meet people who know people who know people, I stand next to zero chance of being handed an invitation. If I have a willing female partner, I might get invited to a less discriminating party, but I don't want the lack of quality for me. If I become extremely wealthy, money could probably help me find my way quicker, because it would allow me to more freely explore, travel, socialize, party exotically.

Perhaps I might get lucky beyond reason. I would discount that entirely, except that I've experienced some odd luck in the past. For example I won an insane contest that led me to having fun sex with two stunning blonds for free. I'm not making this up: years ago, there was a very high-end service based in NYC run by a young guy with more than 1 or 2 screws lose. I came across his modeling website one day, and I was surprised to read that he was hosting a contest about who could write the best poem or song about his model GF. WTF?

Well, WTF! I submitted an entry and won a once-in-a-lifetime crazy one-hour freebie with any model he rep'd that I chose. I met the web-enabled hustler at his lovely loft/office/love-shack. It was very surreal. He seemed nice, gracious even. He also seemed intense, edgy and had an air of being dangerous.

The guy asked me to pick from his on-line "model portfolio", reminding me I could pick anyone I chose, he would see if they were immediately available and I would pay nothing, not even a tip. I chose a stunning Swedish blond whose bio summary said she was working on her her MBA. Um, OK...

Before I knew it, I was leaving with a big grin, and a very mellow mood. On my way out, I went to say goodbye and thanks to the guy, but he was busy talking to a well-dressed man about something to do with uptown real-estate. I immediately got an awkward vibe the other man was an undercover detective. In any event, it wasn't the place, time or situation for me to validate my hunch. I left and shrugged-it off. I wasn't surprise to read in the local news a few weeks later that that the pimp was arrested, shut-down and jailed. Duh.

Well, since then, I've had a very different but even weirder and more bizarre "lucky" break, However, do I think that by perusing the web I will find the perfect high-quality private sex group for myself? Ha. Ha. Either I do my homework, take my time to meet new people and network, or go with a woman to lesser-quality event.

Re: “The Creators: 8 Young Artists You Should Know

Nice piece! Though many of these artists are not "young." It's great to feature all of them but it drives me a bit batty the way that youth obsession works in arts media. I write this as a 44 year old who is often described as a "young artist." I'm not. 44 is really not young. I feel the media wants to make its readership excited about something interesting and fresh, so we must then be perpetually young? It's also a disservice to artists who are actually young - the 25 and unders who don't get enough of the spotlight because those of us who've been working for 25 years keep getting ink as "the new young things." It's bonkers.

Re: “The Creators: 8 Young Artists You Should Know

Very cool article, but maybe changing the title to 8 young "musicians" you should know, + one theater troupe and one playwright.

Using the term "artist" as a blanket term for anyone who makes anything more complex than a monkey wrench is both misleading and alienating to painters, typographers, sculptors, draftsmen etc. Yes, art is everywhere, and anyone can create art... but not everyone is an artist. As an illustrator and animator myself, I was expecting to see artists. Bit of a let down.

Cool none the less though

Re: “Why is Bay Ridge Collapsing?

Why is it that no one seems to want to ask about Bay Ridge's underlying geology? Where I come from, we grew up learning about karst topography and how sinkholes can rapidly form because limestone beneath the topsoil was being rapidly warn away by natural forces and by shoddy agricultural and development practices. Bay Ridge has been the heavily populated, 6-story-apartment-buildings-filled neighborhood that it is today for only about a century. Can we get a geologist interviewed and figure out if our development policies are aggravating a uniquely-vulnerable bedrock or somethin gof the sort?

@Jonny Diamond
This list was chosen by a small group of people who live in Brooklyn who are paid to put out a magazine; it's entirely (and obviously) subjective and it would be impossible to isolate a single set of objective criteria for why we chose what we chose.

Not sure many of the writers get paid, it's a free publication after all. From what I understand, many of the contributors are unpaid.

I cannot help noticing that you have an erroneous entry! The "Best Licensed Spot of a Brooklyn Band in a Brooklyn-Based TV Show" belongs to Hungry March Band with their cameo in Episode 4 of I Just Want My Pants Back.
