This survey of the Dutch artist’s video and installation artworks includes a newly commissioned work, Mik’s first 16mm film and examples of his various productions in between broadcast on surfaces of every size and description throughout the museum. Always subverting conventions of museum viewership, encountering visitors at unexpected moments and problematizing the relationships between object and subject, Mik challenges us to identify the meanings lurking behind his often nonsensical scenes and spectacles.
